Green Jelly w/ZAN and Flannel Math Animal

Green Jelly w/ZAN and Flannel Math Animal

Rock, Punk, Metal
Best known for their suprise Top 40 hit "Three Little Pigs" (as well as the song's claymation video, which became a staple on MTV in 1993), Green Jelly began their career as Green Jellö in 1981. The name was chosen due to the band's poor opinion of green-flavored jello, and they decided it also appropriately reflected the quality of their music. Hailing from Kenmore, NY, the bandmates never attempted to be good, deciding instead to "disguise their lack of ability with stupid props," as their liner notes once put it. Green Jellö appeared on The Gong Show touting themselves as the world's worst band, but the real turning point came in 1988, when they met GWAR and learned how to sculpt props and costumes with latex, papier-mache, chicken wire, and couch cushions. They attracted a small, curious following with their bizarre, cartoonish look and wound up signing with Zoo Records as a video-only band https://www.facebook.com/greenjellosuxx/ In the year 2000, founding members Ace Michel (vocals), David Huber (guitar) and Jason Turner (drums) started a new band, which would eventually come to be known as ZAN. Chase McClendon (guitar) joined the band in 2010, followed by Ryan Johnson (bass) in 2013. Starting with a handful of original songs, the writing style of the band has progressed from run-of-the-mill metal to an odd-time signature “mathy” approach. https://www.facebook.com/pg/ZanBand Flannel Math Animal is an instrumental duo based out of Spokane, Washington. The initial idea behind the band started from a series of jam sessions in the fall of 2013 called the Space Funk Sessions. It was from these sessions that guitarist/synth player Nick Palmieri and drummer Brad Spracklin gave birth to their first few songs as Flannel Math Animal. Their music revolves around the ability to flow through complex time signatures so smoothly you won't even notice! Flannel Math Animal now has an EP out and another on the way, they have also been performing regularly around the local Spokane music scene. Stay tuned for a release of the new album, and try to catch them at a local venue near you! https://www.facebook.com/pg/flannelmathanimal
