Art Exhibit: Philip Harding

Art Exhibit: Philip Harding

Gallery, Art Show
JUN 25 – AUG 17, 2018 The Artwork of Philip Harding is concerned with the primary concerns of existence – how the universe came into existence, how life and consciousness came into existence, and the impact of evolution, the processes of entropy/disentropy, and how our minds experience and understand the world. To explore these concerns, Harding looks to both the right and left hemispheres of the brain. He says, “To draw a grid or other geometric structure involves a very left brain form of concentration but right brain judgments are very different. As one draws or paints, thinking visually in such elements as line, shape or color one taps into those senses capable of making judgments about how something feels.” This approach leads Harding to combine fine geometry with fields of expressionistic color and organic/ unstructured patterns – providing order to chaos and creating an infinite variety of natural forms. Gallery Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8 AM-8:30 PM Friday, 8 AM-12 PM Saturday- Sunday, CLOSED
