The Best Washington state Jam!

I see someone mentioned the The jam in Yakima....I travel around Washington on sales calls all week, play in a band in Seattle & Portland on the weekends. I have been to just about every jam from Spokane to the Seattle area and ect. The jam at the "SpeakEasy" bar & nightclub in Yakima is so pro that when I'm in Yakima on Thursday sales calls, I get a room and stay the night just for the Jam. The Host provides all killer gear. The stage has super pro lights and sound. The happy jammers, & nightclub staff are amazing. As for the host, Tuck Foster...an award winning "Blues Performer of the Year". He makes the jam all about the jammers, not him! A true heart of service 2nd to none. The problem with your host Duncan, is that he's just a wanna be who's never gonna be. I too, have sat at that jam at Dax's many evenings while in Tri-Cities with my guitar in my lap. So anyway, You wanna go to a Classy Jam, and really meet some great player who are there for each other? The trip is worth your while. Heck, I meet players there from Wenatchee! What's that say about a jam? Remember folks...The Host sets the bar for the whole evening, he must create and promote a fellowship between the seasoned pros and the beginner players. The pro supports the new guys, and new guys get better, ain't nobody worried about how perfect it sounds! and the jam builds, more and more listeners come in from the community, this drives the players, the bar's cash registar rings. It's a team thing. Most players like your Host Duncan, knows he's really a poor player himself just put up the players who he feels are gonna benifit HIM in some way. He's worried about putting some people up on the jam without him who are gonna up stage him. Which ain't hard to do..like the beginner!!! `~Peace-Out~`

Thumbs down for the Duncan Price Jam night

If you are a performer and want to jam, don't waste your time at Dax's. You will sit there all night and never get up. As long as Duncan Pryce is the host it's only his cronies that get to play, all you get to do is pay! Yakima has a Jam night at Jacksons on thursdays, Sams Saloon has one in Kennewick on Sunday nights, The Uptown Bar and Grill hosted by Tom Gnoza has one Tuesday nights and Wed nights at the Parkade.
If you like listening to the same songs everyweek and just watching, Dax's on a Thursday night is the place to be!

The waitstaff is great, the drinks are made well and the beer is cold.

Dax's has great service the best in Richland. Great live music to listen to on Fridays and some Saturdays with no cover.
