Oslo, August 31st is a portrait of contemporary Oslo. It is a visually striking and quietly shattering drama about a man in deep existential crisis. Anders, a recovering drug addict, takes a leave from his treatment center to interview for a job and catch up with old friends in Oslo. Every moment poses temptation for relapse for Anders, and picking up the pieces of his life becomes an ever more daunting undertaking on this single day.
