The Columbia Basin Chapter of ARMA International will host June Timmons, Chief Architect of the Washington State Digital Archives, at their January meeting in Richland. Timmons will present an overview of the Digital Archives.
The Washington State Digital Archives were the nation's first archives dedicated specifically to the preservation of electronic records with permanent, legal or historical value from State and local agencies. The Digital Archives are housed in a facility in Cheney custom designed specifically to hold the unique and important electronic records from throughout the state, and to provide simple, straight forward access to researchers.
Dinner will begin at 6:15 pm, followed by Timmons' presentation at 7:00 pm.
Guests and visitors are always welcome at ARMA meetings. A reservation is required in advance, even for those only attending the presentation, to ensure adequate food and seating arrangements. For reservations e-mail BPeters@gcpud.org.
ARMA International is a not-for-profit association and the leader in education for records information management professionals. The Columbia Basin Chapter general membership meets every other month Sept. through May in Richland.
